About

Sheila Mayden Interiors was established in 2004 with the goal of providing high-level design services to Seattle-area homeowners, contractors and developers. Over the years, we have sought to be personable and highly-attentive to our clients, taking great care to understand the needs and wishes of each individual. Today, although our diverse portfolio serves as a testament to our hands-on, “every-client-matters” approach, our favorite projects have come to be those that involve remodeling or updating pre-1950’s homes. We relish the challenge of bringing old homes back to life and love showing our clients how comfort, function and beauty can happily coexist in an older home.

Meet the Team

Founder + Design Principal

Sheila Mayden

Born and raised in Seattle, Sheila graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and then went on to study interior design at Bellevue College. Before starting her own practice, she worked for several Seattle-area architecture and design firms where she gained a strong understanding of architecture, design and construction practices.

While Sheila’s personal style is always evolving, she prefers a carefree blend of traditional and eclectic influences, deftly balancing pieces that are formal and refined with the quirky and playful. As a busy mom of three boys, Sheila knows firsthand how important it is for pieces to be durable and practical. Her spaces are thoughtfully arranged and highly-functional, yet convey feelings of warmth and comfort. A rich layering of color, pattern and texture have become Sheila’s go-to recipe for a joyful space.
